Erin Swain: Glorious Ocracoke Evening Session!
I was on a staycation – That’s a term I adopted from my friend Billy. It’s when you take time off work and enjoy everything your home has to offer. In my case, surfing and kiting! So I woke up early and headed over to Kite Point down near Buxton (well, I had to go back to the place I was kiting the day before to recover my sunglasses I left behind first). more….

Kite, Surf and Suhi at Ocracoke Island
Great day on the island 35+mph SW winds and huge surf, ending up with a great downwinder on Ocracoke Island followed up by a sushi dinner with fresh catch tuna. Next day was a gorgeous sunny quiet day with smooth surf and some yoga on the beach:)

Kiteboarding at Jockey’s Ridge, NagsHead, NC with Dimitri demoing Epic Kites
We had a blast kiteboarding at Nags head on 20-30mph West winds. The direction was side-on pretty steady. Started the day with smooth ride on Cabrinha Switchblade 2011 10m just enough to remember the comfort of riding this kites and surprise how they make things soooo easy and forgiving. Good boosts, then switched for a short sesh on my F-ones Revolt so I was out when Dimitri shows up offering me the Screamer 10m for a demo. I really had a blast on this kite, super easy for upwind, great great hang time and boosting, and I was surprised how easy and nice was to loop this kite – and not to forget the recovery of the kite after the loop. Dimitri one of the team riders Read were boosting high on Screamer 14m.

Ben Wilson in the house
After few days of waiting the strong SW winds finally kicked in, and so as the Ben Wilson shooting at the G spot. Sooo 30+ SSW winds super gusty - Wendy and I did downinder from Buxton to Avon, as we passed the spot where all the pros were riding it felt as worst wind conditions, but the best waves. Some of the riders – Ben Wilson, Jay Crawford, Dimitry, Toe Side Tom and many others – there were at least 10 riders when I passed by….

Strong 30-45mph SE wind with big waves. Had few good sessions. 5-6m kites:)

Igor’s Touch
Huricane Igor brought to Cape Hatteras Big waves and Later strong N-NE wind. Manage to do few sessions in the ocean 10m kite and cross from Hatteras to Ocracoke Island to finish with awesome waves and side offshore wind – amazing experience and I think the NE tip of Ocracoke Island is my new favorite spot:)
